What is a Monofilament (Mono) Wig?Monofilament is a very fine transparent mesh, which is used in the most critical areas of a wigs, the front hairline, parting and crown. The mono mesh is so fine it allows the natural scalp colour to show if parted. Each fibre is tied by hand, to create a Premium Quality Product. The advantage is that it looks completely natural, just like your own scalp. Mono wigs are very lightweight, ideal for hot climates. Because the fibre is Hand-tied onto the monofilament, it behaves exactly like your own hair. The Mono allows the edge of the wig cap to sit extremely flat, difficult partings sit naturally and overall styling is more natural. Mono Parting WigsThe use of mono only in the parting area keeps the cost down. These wigs require the benefits of mono to achieve the style. A mono parting wig also gives a fringeless style a completely natural look. Mono Top WigsIf a style required less bulk, the top and crown area needs the monofilament.
